Forces Online Welfare Support
Welcome to the Forces Online WelfareSupport page which is managed by a team of Welfare Workers who can provide Counselling right down to purly giving information and everything else in between. The welfare side of the charity was setup to support armed forces veterans, their families and dependents with:
VETERANS MENTAL HEALTH/PTSD To provide immediate mental health assistance to veterans and their families suffering from possible harm due to Mental Health/PTSD as a direct result of their current of former service in the Armed Forces, or other circumstances. Following Assessment Forces Online may offer direct support or signpost to a more localised/suitable organisation. This is completed in conjunction with the beneficiary themselves. The aim is to get them treated as soon as possible.
VETERANS HOMELESSNESS To provide immediate direct/indirect financial/other assistance to veterans and their families suffering from possible harm due to homelessness as a direct result of financial difficulties, poverty, or other circumstances. Forces Online would always advise veterans where possible not to leave the family home until other suitable accommodation has been secured. Especially where they are individually/joint responsible for paying a mortgage or on a single/joint tenancy. There is at least another 10 steps veterans should take if they find themselves facing or actually homeless. The welfare team are on hand daily and can be contacted or met with via the Veterans Virtual Hub or use the contact system in the top menu. Please note that we may take up to one working day to answer email and/or message contact. The first basic steps 1 and 2 is to ensure that veterans have been in contact with their Local Authority and OP Fortitude
VETERANS HARDSHIP To provide immediate direct/indirect financial/other assistance to veterans and their families suffering from possible harm due to hardship issues as a direct result of financial difficulties/poverty or, other circumstances. The way we decide on the level of Hardship is through looking at financial information. This includes Bank Statements and Income & Expenditure. This aways gives us a true picture of the veterans circumstances and where we can help them reduce their hardship, This can be achieved by a combination of direct help from Forces Online and signposting to other more effective organisations.
VETERANS UNEMPLOYMENT To provide immediate direct/indirect financial/other assistance to veterans and their families suffering from lack of self-esteem/possible harm due to being unemployed. One of our lastest initiatives is to work with employers and veterans themselves through our Membershipship Initiative We have increased our referral process to include an employer referral. Forces Online reconise that when a veteran is facing issues often related to anniversary dates, where their mental health can become fmore ragile leading to support to help reduce the level of stress this can cause. The outcome Forces Online is aiming for is to keep the veteran in employment because walking away can lead to many more complications and further recruitment expense to the employer.
VETERANS BREADLINE To provide immediate direct financial support/development information/other assistance to veterans and their families suffering from the last of self esteem/possible harm due to hardship issues as a direct result of financial difficulties or change in circumstances. Often the difference between Hardship and Breadline which means just about surviving is a very fine line, Veterans can experience moving between both until they are more secure. The difference can be just talking about issues and allowing others to help, When discussing financial related issues other people that have had similar ones may have overcome them with knowledge and actions that may help. Whilst Forces Online can only provide temporary financial assistance it often buys time to secure a more positive outcome.
VETERANS ENQUIRIES/INFORMATION (AVERAGE/SECURE) To respond to all enquires relating serving or previous service with the Armed Forces (Including family) Its easy to contact Forces Online for enquiries no matter how big or small, The team have many enquries about all sorts of support information and are usually very responsive.
